If chocolate chip cookies cost 3.00 per cookie plus $2 for boxing them up a decorated box,what would the expression be?

3 * x + 2 is the expression. Or 3x + 2.

Knowing that each cookie is $3 without knowing the amount tells you you will have an x variable. So you have to use 3 * x as the $3 for each cookie and then you add 2 for the cost of the box.
