Why according to the frontier ethic/ saving endangered species may be considered foolish?

The answer would be because of what we called "human instinct." Just think of this: if you and your family are struggling to find food to eat, and you have these endangered animals lurking around your location, you would be tempted to kill those animals, and will not care even though they are endangered, just for your family to survive and will not die out of hunger.
