Steam (H₂O) enters a long pipe at steady state with a mass flow rate of 15 kg/s as a saturated vapor (quality x=1) and P=1.5 MPa. Heat loss occurs from the pipe to the surroundings so that the steam exits as a liquid-vapor mixture at a pressure of Pₑ = 1.5 MPa and quality xₑ = 0.4.
