Did you mean ionic? An ionic bond donates an electron to the other atom participating in the bond, while electrons in a covalent bond are shared equally between the atoms. The word “Covalent” has “co” in it, and “co” means “together”. They come together to share electrons, while ionic just donates electrons to another element. I’m not sure if that helps any but I tried.
