[tex]2x + y = 4 \\ 3x - y = - 14 [/tex]

Lets add 2 equations

[tex]5x = - 10 \\ x = - 2[/tex]

Now we need to put x into any equation

[tex]2 \times ( - 2) + y = 4 \\ - 4 + y = 4 \\ y = 8[/tex]

Answer: (-2; 8)
