An oxygen molecule needs two oxygen molecules of oxygen because without another one, the oxygen molecule would still just be a molecule. This is the same reason why water is wet. The only time water is not wet is when there is only one water molecule and when there is only one molecule of something, you can’t see it unless under a microscope.
