P = 2(L + W)
P = 228
L = 2W + 6

228 = 2(2W + 6 + W)
228 = 2(3W + 6)
228 = 6W + 12
228 - 12 = 6W
216 = 6W
216/6 = W
36 = W <=== width is 36 ft

L = 2W + 6
L = 2(36) + 6
L = 72 + 6
L = 78 <=== length is 78 ft

Width (W) = w

Length (L) = 2w + 6

Perimeter = 228

2 (L + W) = 228

L + W = [tex] \frac{228}{2} [/tex]

L + W = 114

2w + 6 + w = 114

3w = 114 - 6

3w = 108

w = [tex] \frac{108}{3} [/tex]

w = 36

Hence, width is 36 ft and length is (2*36 + 6 = 72 + 6) 78 ft.
