The factors of 24 are 1,2,3,4,6,8,12, and 24. The factors of 40 are 1,2,4,5,8,10,20, and 40. The factors of 56 are 1,2,4,7,8,14,28, and 56. 24÷8=3. 40÷8=5. 56÷8=7. Therefore, the GCF of 24,40, and 56 is [tex]\boxed{8}[/tex]
